Hey, everyone. Check out the main website for the latest boxscores! We played a pair of great, close games today. Thanks to everyone who came out this holiday weekend to enjoy some baseball.

Thanks, Peter. However, it takes away the ability to easily update anything about the page. There are free editing programs that won't hijack the code the way PageBuilder does, and nearly all of them have more useful features. Programs like PageBuilder are responsible for me throwing up my hands and refusing to "redo" people's websites anymore.

However, this rant is irrelevant to the discussion. NEW BOXSCORES!!!

the boxscore from game one isn't anywhere close to accurate. It looks like all the players on my team were shorted an at-bat

How come nothing ever appears "perhaps not accurate" or "I don't think it's right" to Ken?

Could you be more specific? I recall having about 5 at bats in the first game.

Well, I was on base 4 times (at least one of which was a double) and popped out twice. Since there is no reason I should have two more at-bats than the last batter on our team, I image that everyone else's last at-bat wasn't recorded either.

According to the boxscore 25 batters were retired (one double play, one player retired on a non-force play) with 13 hits 6 roes and no fcs on 39 at-bats

25+13+6+0 > 39

I pulled the figures directly from the scoresheets. It may seem that way because your team went 1-2-3 in three consecutive innings. Remember, it was only a 2-1 game at the stretch. I'll add some team totals. That might help to reveal any possible inconsistencies.

Which boxscore are you reading? Everyone on your team had 5 AB's, except the last batter who had 4. Are you adding the totals from both games?

Well, there is no record of your team having batted in the 9th. Do you remember the final batter?

Edit: To everybody, please remember to keep the score current. We did a pretty good job of it all day today, with a lot of help from Matt, but one missed inning can affect a lot of season and career stats. We've even ended a game only to find out later that it was a tie.

furthermore, I find it very hard to believe that Ethan got the game winning rbi in the 8th and was also your team's last batter.

edit: it makes more sense now that I have that info.

He wasn't. Bern ended the inning. Case in point.

Edit: Did he strike out to end the inning? I'm pretty sure I remember him striking out late in the game. Do you remember how you got out of the bases loaded situation?

and someone still owes me at least a single damnit!

thanks nick for workin that out. It's tough sometimes when there are a lot of new players, but those of us who have been around for a while should take the lead on keeping the boxscore updated and showing the new players how it's done.

I'm pretty sure this has been discussed before, but I feel like standard baseball score sheets are as intuitive (and probably more familiar to experienced players who are new to our group) and provide more information for situations where we may have to recreate an at-bat or an inning than the system we are currently using.
