Worth a drive-by from Scott around 12pm?
sure

As of last week willard has a tractor and a dumpster parked in the infield.

I don't know if I've ever seen open space at Bushrod. We consistatly have problems finding room for practice there on week nights, I can only assume it'll be worse on weekends.

That's Emery High School. I seem to remember checking them out a while back and deciding that they were locked up, but it's certainly worth another drive by.

By the way, We weren't playing on kennedy. Kennedy is north of cutting. We were in Plaza Park.
incorrect. Plaza Park is the small grass area just to the east of the sports complex.
You sure?

But in both maps Kennedy is up and to the left, about 3 blocks away. That could be important if others used google or yahoo to get there.

john f kennedy park =/= john f. kennedy high school if you approach from the Cutting side as opposed to the Potrero side it will be clear that the sports complex is a part of Kennedy High School

I think Ken explained it... but that google map is labeled incorrectly. I drive down Cutting every day to and fro work and that park is called Plaza Park... with the little dinky ball field with the brown grass. Kennedy High School baseball field is in (uhhh) the back of the school.

Ironic how I keep coming up with fields but I haven't played in a while. But here's another unsolicited thought:

MLK field at Cutting Blvd. & Harbor Way South (about 30 blocks west or down from Kennedy)
http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=37.9 ... 9&t=h&z=16

could be a candidate. The field is thus far somewhat green this year (sometimes brown). I know I've seen organized or semi-organized (they sometimes wear uniforms) games there of Latino players on weekday evenings and Saturdays (I don't think Sunday). Maybe worth checking. They play some pretty good games though.

i don't think GG is not a suitable field to play on due to the problem with placing 2b

edit: added one very important word.

Agreed, but we could use use it! We have three-four days to find another one or we're going back there.

i nominate king. i also think kennedy would be an option if we were willing to beat out the soccer players (i'd be willing to go early if someone else was willing to go early as well... sitting out there by myself doesn't seem particularly pleasant)

I'd vote for King as well.

I think that Kennedy is only an option if we move the goals ourselves, which I am not volunteering for.

Can we do King with a backup of Golden Gate? (It's nice to have a backup that's clearly always open even if its sub par.)

Ok, I'll set up King with Golden Gate as the backup field.
