6/22 Giants @ A's 7:05pm Replica 89 McGwire Jersey Give Away

Post by TheLegend »

Richard and I are going to this game. It would be great to get a group together hangout away from our weekly ritual and this is a great opportunity to do just that. We're planning on getting plaza level infield seats ($35) and getting there early to grab our jerseys. Anyone who's interested is invited to join us (unless they plan on rooting for the giants  ) feel free to post here or talk to either of us on Sunday.

I wish I could go... but capitalism prevents my participating. Interestingly, this is the first giveaway that I actually don't want!

I'm watching the A's and the gnats err Rockies and is it me or are they letting people sneak into the Diamond Level seats behind home plate ? i see all kinds of kids who don't lppk like they copped a couple hundred for DL tickets. Others are just sauntering to the seats in the 6th inning- that would be bad for the A's very bad image wise.

I'm telling you... it wasn't just kids. Normally when you see the crown in the DL seats, they look like people with a little money. Saturday night, the crowd was TOTALLY different. Another hint these weren't the regular folks- the waiters weren't serving anyone... but just watching the game. It's like the Coliseum let folks come down so they wouldn't look bad on tv with a 2\3rds empty DL section. Scott did you get a good deal on tickets from a 3rd party or just walk down... I've been wanting to take my dad down there, but haven't been willing (able) to pay $300 a seat via Stub.

Yeah, I got hooked up by my friend who works for the A's. I had never sat there before. There is a huge check-in process just to sit there. It's cool, because the hallway you use to get down there is the same one used by the away team to get from the dugout to their clubhouse. There's a dividing line down the hallway so fans stay on one side.

It's all you can eat, except for alcohol. Although, you do get 2 free drink tickets with your ticket, you just have to pay after that. We were getting good attention from the waitresses. There was a non-stop flow of sandwiches, candy, snacks, etc.

For the 8th and 9th innings, when the A's decided to score 7 runs and turn the blowout back into a MLB game, I moved down to the seat in the front row directly behind home plate. Most of the other diamond level people had left early. So I need to get a copy of this game on tape so I can view my shenanigans from the late innings.
