Play ball! Then talk about it. Or vice versa.

Official World Cup Party Thread 7/1/2006

Post by Southpaw Slim »

I'm hosting a World Cup Party at my place in Oakland on Saturday the 1st, starting at 7:45 AM. There will be grilled marinated steak and sausage, and drinking games to keep spirits high. I will also provide potato salad.

England vs. Portugal @ 8:00 AM

Brazil vs. France @ 12:00 NOON

Between games, we will have 4-player Nintendo World Cup on the old 8-bit grey box for people to play. Drinking games may continue during this period for the heavyweights, as we will most likely have high scoring games.
I intended to write something to remind everybody of my superior prowess.

I'll be there with bells on, as we say in Blighty. Beer and sausage for breakfast is quite authentically German. I'd better bring some Bitburger.

Looking forward to it, Paul! If anyone wants to bring some side dishes to eat, they are welcome. Donations are also encouraged to cover some of the cost. I just bought a mini-keg of Grolsch, so beer should be aplenty.

Wow! Scott getting into a non-baseball activity!

Ok, now this isn't going to be nearly as well-planned and/or exciting as Nick's World Cup party, but I should inform everyone that I'll be taping the World Cup Finals, which coincide with this Sunday's baseball game (as well as a season ticket I have for the A's). So I'll be watching the taped World Cup finals later Sunday, like early evening, 5:00 ish. Feel free to get in touch if you would like to check out the Finals later that night (this Sunday). NOTE: You better wash your scrubby ass after playing baseball though... don't come over here with that filth still on ya.

PS: Please keep the details of who won / who's winning / etc. under wraps until at least late Sunday night, to preserve the watching experience.

Well I'm not sure about any steak/sausage, but I suspect drinking games and Nintendo World Cup are quite likely to be involved as previously.
