I didn't notice any grills, but we've had a large turnout for previous BBQ's, which would make Nicholl a good park to use... and here's my reasoning:

If we have a turnout of 28 or more people (which was pretty much like the last griller,) then we can split into two groups of 14+ and play two games at once. Then, the winners can play each other for a "championship" game, with the others in the stands and at the grills. After the game ends, the food will be ready and everyone can chow down. This would be the ideal situation, though it is very difficult to forecast turnout.

nick that is a brillant idea, i noticed grills for the last one paul brought his lil smokey, and i heard that pablo had one, but read the thread for the last picnic cause a buncha people said they could bring a grill.

Also Daniel has grill and i have grill, though i am not to sure where mine is and these would be a full sized grill. But Daniel has expressed to me that he would be down for the def park picnic he said there would be too many problems. Well i shouldnt speak for him i will let him post his own shit.

but yeah lets do that where we try to have 2 games at nicholl and the winners play each other also i think i saw what could be a grill at nicholl. On the nice field down the right field line inbetween the tennis courts and the field also there is a table or two and a big tree that provides a cool bit of shade.

i could see us having 28 if every one shows up and some people bring friends. after all not too long ago there was a game that where 25 people showed up. i know i have some friends who would be down for something like this.

i'm sure this goes without saying, but i'm in favor of any idea that moves any game away from defremery.

seeing as how it is now wednesday, i would like to know if there is any chance of this actually happening, so i can plan my weekend accordingly.

p.s. should we have gotten our ballots already?

Hey, we're going to go ahead and do DeFremery as originally scheduled. Sorry it's not your preference, and I hope your weekend is great.

About ballots, there has been a printing problem, which has created a delay. Sorry about this delay........ it wasn't what I had in mind at all.

Ballots will be available at the next few games (July 2, July 9, July 16). I will also be emailing them out before Sunday, possibly with the reminder email on Thursday. (I'm still waiting on some reformating of the ballot so it can be emailed and printed.) The timeline originally conceived for turning in ballots will now be delayed to give people time to vote.

Yeah, that was the original point, but, like I said, other things prevented this from happening. For instance, I had to leave town for a week for work... something I rarely have to do, etc.

would the awards bbq be at defremery???

cause to me it seems like the point of the ceremony is to congradulate the winners but if possible winner or winners arent there to receive them, then it seems kinda silly.

oh and i will not be there on the 2nd but yall have fun

BBQ food checklist

Post by tallguy »

OK, I've got 20 hamburger patties, and Scott said he'd bring burger buns. Peter is bringing the hot dogs. We need cheese slices for the burgers, and buns for the hot dogs.
Ketchup and mustard, too.

So, hopefully, someone is bringing plates, cups, drinks, chips and condiments!
