Which Option to Manage Turnout? Pick One!

Play ball! Then talk about it. Or vice versa.

Which option should be used to deal with the high turnout?

Have a double-header (2 games) every two weeks. First game at 11:30, Second game at 3:30.

Which Option to Manage Turnout? Pick One!

Post by Baseball=Life »

The "High Turnout = DH Madness/less at-bats" thread has come up with 3 plausible ideas to deal with the high turnout. Vote for which of the three options you think should be implemented. This option might even be put into use starting with the next game on 2/13.

Note: I have not personally checked out the alternate field in option # 3, though more than one person has told me it would work and be available.

I like both of the first two options, my only problem is if the first game run long then the second one might end up not having enough time to played, or something of that general variety. I think that option is more viable during the summer, when the sun goes down late.

I'm gonna push for option 2. The post-gram practice is a fun alternate to a game.

I want baseball to happen on the 20th. It's my birthday, and that would be an awsome way to celebrate it :)

I guess that makes my vote be for #2 huh...

Wow. Sunday is my only day off work/school. If we play each week, I will have NO life!

Sunday = Baseball ?

Post by Baseball=Life »

Yeah, for me playing every Sunday means I"ll have to work every Friday. Hahahah you must be thinking "that's Standard." But for me, I've worked Sundays not Fridays for about 5 years. It's looking more and more like the weekly option is the way to go.... I wonder if it will really make the turnout average out and address this issue it's supposed to address! Hopefully!

So staying logged in when I log in would be awsome. Yeah, that guest post was me. I was logged in, then without leaving the forums or clicking log out, I was logged out. Odd.

Here is how. If I work or go to school everyday, but Sunday, but then I play baseball each Sunday, then I have no real outside time to chill with my SF friends.

Not like ya'll ain't friends, but, yeah.

Ideas for a couple of more choices.

Post by Rob C »

How about changing the poll to include a combination of the proposals? For example:
CHOICE 4: Play games weekly every Sunday AND have a double hitter (First game at 11:30, Second game at 3:30.

CHOICE 5 :Play games weekly every Sunday AND have a double-header (2 games) every two weeks. First game at 11:30, Second game at 3:30.

MAKE THIS CHOICE AS A SEPARATE POLL (Y/N)
All extra players go to a backup field location nearby and play there.

I personally would like to see 2 games every Sunday. That wold give everyone thier weekly fix, and a little more flexibility.

I disagree. I think the games are special, and once a week is enough. But we shoul dreally urge people to come out, or stay late for the practice.

I have visions of half-ass efforts durring the second baseball games of each week.

2nd Game

Post by Baseball=Life »

I don't think if there was a 2nd game it would be half-ass... I think new people would show up for that game ready to play, and those who stayed for a 2nd game would stay because they want to play as well. But I hear you on how a 2nd game would run into the after-game practice that has become common.

Still thinking about that latest idea in Rob's post.

Man if we should have games weekly, then who ever wants to play weekly cool, or if whoever wants to play one week after and not particpate everyweek will be fine...I think it would balance out the pissed off late comers like last time and the ones who dosen't wants to come every week. I will show up every Sunday possibly...
play 2 win, but have plenty 2 lose.....
