Play ball! Then talk about it. Or vice versa.

3/26 double-header

Post by tallguy »

Holy shit you guys, it looks like a good thing I didn't play. On the boxscores I see you had a very full turnout, one more could have been too many.
Sad to see I missed two games, and not just one, but I still lead career total games played, bitches!
Two web gems for Will, can't say I'm surprised. Three K's for Rich, ditto. You're catching me up, dude. All of mine were in season 1 and 2, so far I don't have one this season (he said, sorely tempting fate). I will feel much better once someone finally overtakes me.

I know I wasn't there, but:
POG for game two surely Mario H, with 5/5?
POG for game one looks a little harder to call, but based on the boxscore and notes alone, Scott looks ahead to me.

Will got 2 web gems? I'm guessing his catch in left-center was the first one. I was right there: yes, the range was very very good, but the backhand was by choice, not by need.

Just so you all know.

Will said himself that he had to backhand the ball because he over-ran it. IMO... definately not a WG.

I don't understand why some of us are so eager to give WGs on plays that look pretty, but are in truth rather routine (or in this case, a goof up)...

oh, and while I'm thinking about it... my WG from last week doesn't seem to have made it onto my season stats.

Do you guys not hear the web gems as they are being called out? Why not voice your concerns then? I know there's a lot going on but to question the achievement on the board after the fact just seems like you're, how do the kids say it these days, hating? Yes, that is the phrase.

If he doesn't get one for that catch, then he certainly gets one for the grab he made off of me in game 2. That ball was more center than left-center and while I didn't crush that ball, I hit it pretty freakin' hard and far. I was beyond shocked when I saw he caught that.

Just some thoughts to ponder.

I didn't know that play was a WG until after the game. I was all the way out in left center when that play was made. I didn't hear the nominations.

Ken, I was keeping score for the entirety of Game 1 and you never once came up to me to dispute the Gem. Also, you're correct about your WG not making it into the season stats. There's also a problem with some missing HIDPs in the season stats, too. I have to go back and input them later. Otherwise, the stats are correct, including 1/8/06.

While you're checking it out, you might as well glance at the new Season 3 Leaderboards, although the missing WG is reflected there as well.
I intended to write something to remind everybody of my superior prowess.
