Free cleats

Post by PhatBat »

I spoiled myself and bought some tight cleats from Big 5's sale last week. I'm donating my old size eleven cleats to anyone who wants to rehabilitate them. If not, I'll just toss'em.
Also for you lefties, one free batting glove in good condition.
I don't want any money, I just want you to use them.

In case there's more than one person interested, we'll have a hitting derby or foot race or some other fair way of giving this stuff away.

BTW, my bat is a Rawlings. There's one on ebay right now for under 20 bucks, Paul!

I'm guessing that was Pablo.

That bat looks exactly like the one I got, just a different color. It would be very much against the normal price range if that bat finished at less than $60, or even $100 for that matter. With over a day left on the auction the price can and probably will move a great deal. I am still going to sell mine, I think, I just want to wait until there is a few less competing items.

Speaking of cleats, I have been advised by my podiatrist to miss the game this Sunday, as she just had to remove basically my whole big toe-nail on my right foot, and it needs to rest. She said I should try and get some cleats with more room in the toe area, so if I do find some, I will have a pair of lightly used size 12 to give away.

Apparently my toe, like my cock, is too big for my own good.

Paul this will therefore be the perfect opportunity for you to come out and really add value to yourself in terms of baseball understanding and knowledge. As you know, the 3rd party perspective on the game certainly has its advantages. I encourage you to come out, rest the toe, perhaps help score the game, etc.

Scott, I would love to, but as soon as the old dutch heard what the doctor said, she started making plans for some "quality time" together...Sigh.

Do you run on your elbows, you great lummox? Did you have a physician specifically tell you not to play, and you're ignoring that advice? It's not comparable, man.

i've had physicians tell me not only that I can't play baseball, but that i shouldn't play music, cook or do just about anything i might want to do. fuck 'em. you do what you want. just know what your doin'. if your toes gonna get better by sittin' out, that's awesome. i aint gettin' any better, but maybe it's just that i won't "sit one out." maybe i'm not the one to comment here, as i've pretty much shot my legs at age twenty five. yeah, definately sit the game out. god. i'm a fucking idiot.

i'm full of shit too. my neck's still blown from last week. if i can't really move my neck and shoulders, i don't see much of a point in trying to hit a baseball. sucks though, as i'm gonna have to work next sunday. shit. maybe i'll try to play anyway.

and yes, shmoe, i got myself a job. two of 'em in fact. they both suck. i'll probably have to work every other sunday, or some such. sucks, right?

Seth, your neck got "blown out"? Was it from the devastating human brick wall you ran into in the 2nd inning of last week's game? Because I believe I bruised a bone in my thumb/palm from that collision. I originally thought it was broken, but I don't have the insurance to go find out, and it didn't hurt long enough for me to be too worried about it.

However, I'm in the same camp as the rest of you whiners. I could play tomorrow, but I aggravated my condition Thursday so common sense tells me to wait a week. Maybe I'll take a low-impact position and swing one-handed. Or, I can sit on the bench and keep some detailed stats for the game.

no, actually i came out of that collision pretty well. shame the throw was so good. your glove was right on top of the plate, and that's where the ball came. that sucks though, thumbs are pretty important. yet another reason not to play catcher. actually, i would kinda be into catcher, were it not for the whole knee thing. after a couple of innings i might not be able to walk home.
i actually hurt my neck on one really bad swing. i knew it immediately. it was an ugly swing, and i felt this little twinge. i didn't think anything of it, but it just kept getting worse. by the time i was home i couldn't turn my head at all. fucked up thing is that it's still hurtin'. i don't mind gettin' hurt so long as i get better quickly. gotta avoid those bad swings. i'm pretty sure that if i went out and played i'd be back in the same boat after a couple of innings. sucks though. now i gotta wait two more weeks, and i'm still sittin' on a 4 for twenty-six or something god aweful. tryin' to play with a bad neck aint gonna help that though. just gonna have to wait.

Yeah, Seth. You would benefit from watching the ball travel from the pitcher's hand to the catcher's mitt for a couple of pitches each at-bat before swinging to get you into the habit of following the ball on every pitch. It'll assist you in keeping from turning your head outward when you swing.
