why don't we just use regular scoresheets and score the game like a regular game? I guess the system we have is simpler -- but we wouldn't have any questions later.

You Guessed Right

Yeah, this system is simpler. We have to keep it simple since we don't have a dedicated scorekeeper & we're relying on everyone to chip in.

Using a 3 to show someone hit a HR in the 3rd inning (instead of just using a tally mark) will be a sufficient replacement, and should be easy for everyone to do. I assume this because it has already worked in the Runs column.

And as for interpretation later, it will be all we need, I know this from scoring Baseball Stars games like this (a Nintendo game.... ok, i've scored a video baseball game, I admit it).

Not only did you set up the scoresheets for Stars (which we parlayed into game-ready scoresheets) but I have to mention we also set up our own Excel database for season stats. That will prove to be valuable as I create this online DB. And Daniel, Anthony, Jason, whoever else has web-programming experience, if you have any suggestions for code shortcuts (I'll be using PHP mostly, probably with MySQL) they are greatly appreciated! :D

I feel better

Post by Baseball=Life »

Thanks for admitting that, and I do feel better. So I'll even reveal the even nerd-yer aspects of my Nintendo tracking. I record the games on VHS and then score them later. Then I data-enter the stats from the scoresheets into a spreadsheet on Excel. Then Nick & I get to analyze our games on a deeper level than Nintendo can provide. (This is the stat-eating I refer to often.) Sorry to expose you Nick! But, in his defense, he mainly handles making sure the spreadsheet is valid and can show both game and season totals.

Hahahahh we're baseball nerds.
