a wacky idea

Post by Joe shmoe »

i was realizing that after last weeks game that one day a week of baseball just isnt enough. the only other day i have off is mondays. anyways they have softball leagues, which play on mondays. i am quite aware that that softball is not baseball. but aside from the ball size, bat size, diamond size and pitch angle. anyways i played in a league once and had a blast. just a thought

Hey I might be down to join a Monday softball team/game. I assume the games would be in the evening. Are you saying you want to try to get a team set up, Richard? What do you want to happen, specifically?

Softball's no baseball, but it's fun anyway.

more specifically i was wondering if there are enough people who would be interested in playing softball on mondays to form a team. then enter a league and whoop some fat 45 year old ass.

Yeah, Id play on a softball team. Sounds fun. Is it high arc or fast pitch (probably the former)?

Count me in. I'm down for back-to-back Diamond Days. And Peter, considering we have a form of slow pitch, I don't think it'll mess too badly with anyone's swing.

Remember that nasty slump I just got out of? I blame it on playing softball in November and December.

Peter, the slump was virtually league-wide. I don't think it had anything to do with softball. I wasn't playing softball and I slumped, too. There are several others who are just getting back on track. I think it was the weather, not the form of game.

I would probably try and come to some of these games, too. Does anyone know what teams are looking for players?

The man speaks the truth. While in NY I played for a company 12 ft arc softball team and a modified fast pitch men's softball league for the last 4 summers. When I began playing hard ball again on Sundays...well...let's just say the air was my domain. It is now that I am starting to hit line drives again and am feeling comfortable in my stance.

But, like Nick pointed out we're not exactly playing in AA ball so I guess the fact that one could play more ball outweighs the potential damage to our majestic swings.

I would be interested in playing monday nights. I also manage a coed Thursday team so I know about the league. If you are interested in starting a team in the Oakland league fees are $600 and the season starts beginning of April, so if you are going to do it I would get on it soon. For Oakland softball get ahold of Kien Lam his email adress is klam24@yahoo.com

As far as your swinging goes it does have a slight affect that I have noticed. But it sure is fun playing some ball during the week.(I know its not baseball, but it is still some fun shit non the less)

Fuckin' A, $600?!

are the softballs made of gold or something? Does that include a Rep from their league coming over and mowing the lawn for you?

Just kidding, but, damn, 600 bones.... I guess if you split that up between 15 people it's $40 bucks each. If we get 20 people in on it, it's $30 each. Ok, ok, i'll still do it.

You probably would not want more than 15 people, cause the games are time limited to 75minutes, and its no fun sitting on the bench. I know its alot of money, thats why most, if not all the teams have a sponsor. Anyway if you need somemore info let me know.
