New Players = Potential New Regulars

Post by Southpaw Slim »

I noticed there were 3 or 4 new people in the last game, plus 2 more new people this year. Why, then, is it that nobody has registered in the forum since Joe Shmoe? Every time this happens, I fear we will lose these precious newcomers.

Encouraged involvement of off-field participation while we're at the game is what I believe to be a crucial element in turning potential flakers into members of the elite "core players". Who has ideas to help cultivate "regulars"? I know that I could be vocal in promoting use of the forum during off-days.

no chris is a newer member than i am. i dont feel the forum is that important. i think the best way is to just be chill, have good close games, try to help out people with fielding tips or batting. also talk to people maybe you can give him a ride. i know i would be a huge flake if it werent for chris so once again thanks for all the rides dude

Well, Chris actually hasn't "registered" yet, even though he has posted multiple times as a guest.

Also, keeping people involved during the week will greatly increase their chances of returning. Most of the people on this forum are members of the core crew. Talking about it during the whole week reminds people of how great it is to play baseball YEAR 'ROUND!

I LOVE THIS LEAGUE! FUCK YEAH!

OK, Peter and Scott are blatantly just trying to be the one with the most posts. Sometimes I'm convinced you guys post just for that reason. For shame!

Getting back on subject, I think it's important to keep people involved throughout the entire week if we want to keep attendance up. We've had too many days where we were 2 or 3 short of being able to play a game.
