I had a pretty good time yesterday... but I'm sure my opinion doesn't really count since I think I've always been the top supporter of our live games... Either way though, I think this was probably our second best live game... Not a walkfest (well, excluding my personal performance... grumble grumble) and the game ended up pretty close.
p.s. where are the pitching stats?
Well... how was it?
I believe we stopped trying to keep pitching stats, as they were far from accurate.
Well, I have come to the conclusion that I cannot hit for shit anything with much movement. Also, a good heater will paralyze me, and a changeup will likely have me swinging early. So basically I suck! Maybe practice would help, but I didn't enjoy the game. I'm not in favor of increasing the number of live games, not right now anyway. Ask me after the next game, for which I intend to practice in the batting cage...

Yeah, going into that game I was really hoping it would be a game with not too many walks. So I'm glad that the game was (somewhat) reduced in terms of number of walks. Next goal is to reign in the base stealing, which starts with the pitchers keeping the runners closer.
Oh, Ken, as for the pitching stats, Paul is right, they are just too hard to track without a committed scorekeeper.
At the very least I would need to know exactly what innings each pitcher pitched (ie when all pitching changes happened), then I'd have to make determinations about what runs were earned/unearned (hard to do after the fact).

I wasn't actually suggesting that we play live games more frequently, I just felt like this was one of our better live games and I wanted to see how other people felt about it.
About the pitching stats: all we would have to do to accurately track pitching stats would be to note when each pitcher left the game and note which runs are earned and with aren't. Everything else (BB,K,H, HR) can be easily infered from the batting stats we already keep.
For our team's IP I know:
Andrew 5 (1-5)
Chris 1 (6)
Michael 1 (7)
Richard J 1 ( 8 ) edit: stupid smily
the opposing team I'm less sure of, but I'm sure someone remembers.

Yeah, I've been able to reconstruct the pitching stats once before, but that was because we did track when pitchers entered/were replaced, as you mention above. Let me tell you from experience, however, that figuring out the earned versus unearned is very, very difficult after the fact. The only time I did it was because I spent at least an hour debating what was earned/unearned. I don't want to go through that lengthy speculation again.
Now, I know that's not what you were calling for. You're saying let's just track it during the game ("it" being both when pitchers leave & enter, but also which runs are earned/unearned). I would argue this is not realistic. I've tried it before, and we just don't have enough people who will help (and know how) to keep score. Bear in mind that putting down a mark for a hit or AB or whatever is a far less complex process than determining whether a run was earned or not.
This all having been said, I certainly encourage any and everyone to try Ken's idea of starting to track pitching stats at LIVE games, and, if others are willing to really commit to it (including being willing to wait during moments of the game when we have to figure out whether something was earned/unearned), then I will certainly jump on board and help out 110%. I definitely enjoy dining upon the pitching stats when we have them.
And, as for your point about how we could figure out the other stats like K, H, HBP, etc. after the game, I totally agree--that part is easy no doubt.
