I think my slugging has taken a dive due to outfielders playing me too deep... Three times last week I hit what I thought was a gapper and rounded first to see the outfielder jogging over to cut it off... I guess I need to work on mastering the texas-leaguer so I can start getting a little more disrespect!

{translation}

Y'all bitches better watch the fuck out... if y'all wanna play so fuckin' deep that I can't get a fuckin' extra basehit then I'm gonna school you mothafuckas in the art of the bloop basehit, you bitches. Then, after I go 7 for 7 doin' that shit, y'all are gonna come in and shit and you know what I'm gonna do then? I'm gonna hit the ball so mothafuckin' hard that I'll be able to walk around the mothafuckin bases.

on a somewhat related note, last night I dreamed that I hit a homerun left handed, i think it's a sign that I should start switch hitting.

Wow! Totaly missed that I had my 100th hit!

How am I one of the few people to not gave a 3-double game, and yet be second in career doubles. :?:

Well, i can see how many games I have missed! I'm falling way behind in many of those stat tracks!

Season Two MVP

Post by Baseball=Life »

Well, we only have two more games that count toward Season 2 stats (12/4 at DeFremery and 12/18 at Curt Flood).

It's time to start thinking about who you will vote for for MVP and for Gold Gloves for Season Two!

Will Will (haha) take MVP with his monster offensive numbers? Or will his recent absence hurt his candidacy?

Will Ken repeat as MVP?

Will Paul win his first MVP award? What about a gold glove, I mean he did get his first career webgem the other day! Hahahah if you had asked me 6 months ago what Paul's first webgem would involve, I would have definitely emphasized that a bare hand would be involved.

Or will everyone wise up and just hand me the MVP and all the gold glove awards?

You spam-bastard!

I think I am out of the MVP race for sure, and have played so many different positions, GG seems a long shot. Maybe I'll pull in a strong ending.

Paul is in the leas in my mind for sure! Ken... numbers are way down from last year. And I have 2 more ABs than Will, and I feel majorly AWOL, so, not sure about him!

Jeesh my numbers have been way down this season... i think it may be because I've been fiddling with my batting stance for months, and I think I've actually improved my hitting... unfortunately, hitting the ball softly was often times an advantage for me. I also think I've batted with runners on first base a lot more this season than I did last season, which really takes a bite out of my average.

Don't worry though... I'll go 9/9 in the last game with 3HR 3 3B and 3 2B... and 9 runs... and 45 RBIs, and 11 WGs... then you'll see.

and by that I mean: here's to next season.

Of course, it has to be noted that cumulative numbers from Season 1 and 2 really can't be compared. Season one was 8 months long, had fewer live games (ie games for which the stats didn't count), more double-headers. So there's many factors that would make you have much higher cumulative numbers in season 1. So it's all about averages.

I expect to go 4 for 3 with 6 home runs in the final game, so MVP will be mine.

And, oh yeah, by the way, I meant to indicate this--> the following is also my hitting philosophy:

Baseball=Life wrote:That will suck if the final game of S2 is washed away.
That will suck if we have to actually take 2 entire weeks off from baseball, considering the 12/25 Xmas off-day.
Unfortunately, it has occured.

Congratulations, everybody. Here are some interesting stats to consider after the end of Season 2.

AT-BATS
Scott only needs 1 more to reach 300 career AB.
Three other people have 250 or more.
Four people had 100+ AB in Season 2.

HITS
Scott is the only one to achieve 150+ career hits.
Three others have 130+ and two more have 100+.
Paul led Season 2 with 60 hits.

RUNS
Three people have over 100, with Scott leading the category (129) over Ken (115) and Nick (112).
Scott led Season 2 (53) as the only person with 50+ runs.

DOUBLES
There are seven people with 20+ doubles.
Paul leads with 29. He and Chris both had 15 in Season 2, with Chris getting 4 in the final game of the Season.

TRIPLES
Four people are in double digits, Pat (13), Scott (12), Will (12), and Nick (10).

HOME RUNS
Will had a monstrous season and ended with 20 career HR.
Three others have 10 or more, Paul (15), Nick (12), and Peter L (10).
Will led Season 2 (12). Paul was second with 8.

RUNS BATTED IN
Three people are close enough to achieve 100 RBI within their next one or two games: Paul (97), Nick (95) and Will (90).
Will was the only person to get 50 in Season 2, shattering the single game record with a whopping 19!

TOTAL BASES
Paul (219), Scott (217), and Nick (214) are the only three with 200+ TB. They are all within 5 of each other.
Paul led Season 2 (101) as the only person with 100.

BATTING AVERAGE
Only six people with 50+ AB have an average above .500.
Pat had an amazing .570 average (86/151). Cuong is next with .537 (29/54), followed by Scott at .518 (155/299).
Five people had a .500+ average for Season 2, with Pat leading the pack (.567).

SLUGGING PERCENTAGE
The only person to have a 1.000+ career slugging percentage with 35 or more AB is Will (1.120). He also was the only person to achieve the same level for Season 2, ending with a 1.284 season SLG.

AVERAGE PLUS SLUGGING
Will leads career and Season 2 APS with 1.635 and 1.838, respectively. Pat is close behind with 1.457 career APS, while Scott (1.442), Paul (1.400) and Pat (1.383) were the only others within 500 points in Season 2.

WEB GEMS
Scott is the only person with 10. The next best are four with 4 (Chris, Peter L, Rich and Pat).
Scott collected a staggering 7 web gems in Season 2.
I intended to write something to remind everybody of my superior prowess.
