UMPIRES, COACHES, SCOREKEEPERS, etc

Post by Baseball=Life »

You guys may have noticed in the reminder email that I sent out this morning that I am emphasizing the need to

Show up on time! Be Prompt! Come at 10:30 so you're warmed up by 11!

Now, I know that the forum users are the people who are veterans who always show up on time. I figured I'd put this here just in case someone who isn't punctual reads it.

We can only accommodate the first 20 people. After that, anyone who shows up can umpire, coach, or be a scorekeeper.

I haven't decided how strictly I will enforce this. Since this is the first time I'm mentioning the umpire/coach consequence for being late, I'll probably consider being lenient this first time. We'll see, I'm not sure, so just play it safe and show up at 10:30.

What about those of us who wish to coach or umpire? If some people show up late -- I'm talking about Carlos, specifically -- then can some of us forfeit our "slot" to take a side role such as ump or base coach? It's just a though, but I think it plays well into your proposed leniency.
I intended to write something to remind everybody of my superior prowess.

Yeah, of course someone could forfeit their slot and switch with a late person.

Except you, Nick, you're far too shitty of an Ump.

Just kidding.

PS: if you read this, call me, it's 2:30 Friday.
