Well, well, well...

It was great to have a game again. Sorry to everyone about my lack of leadership & organizing during my time on the Disabled List.

Well, I'm back and so are our games!

Yesterday was a great game, one of our lowest-scoring ever! Half of the game (8/18 of the half-innings) were scoreless. The final score of 12-10 was excellent, very much like that 3/27/05 game at DeFremery. (That 9 to 8 DeFremery game from last March still boggles my mind for its low score.)

Anyway, on to Player of the Game and Goat of the Game:

Well I gotta give Nick Warwick Goat of the game, only because he told me himself that he deserved it. Going 1/7 in the # 2 spot with 2 strikeouts and nary a RBI, despite there being someone on base for every one of his at-bats (except in the 2nd Inning). And, after Pat's Sacrifice Fly, Nick's throw (to home, ostensibly) from Center Field that took like 3 hops and looked like Ken Griffey Jr's recent throw........ was fucking hilarious. All he needed to make the day one of the best Goats ever was a funny tantrum involving the water cooler.... But Jason beat ya to that! Hahahahah funny, funny.

Player of the Game.......... well, I think that I had the best offensive day, but my team lost............... so........... I give Player of the Game to: Ken.

He had the only triple of the day, and he scored 33% of his team's 12 runs. He also made a solid, near WebGem, catch in deep Center Field, falling into a backward somersault after the catch, but still holding onto the ball. Close 2nd is Pat & Paul, but they had similar days and didn't quite match what Ken did offensively.

This was one of the best games we've had in a while (which isn't saying much if you consider a while to be a month or so :P )

but seriously... it was great to get out there and play again, I feel like it was one of the few games we've had where everyone played solidly on defense (hence the low score)... come to think of it... I can only remember a handful of errors...

the 2 balls I lost in the sun
scott's throwing error in our big inning
Rich's throwing error trying to catch me off second
Chris's muffed catch in left
and I think Shaun made a throwing error in the first...

For the first time in a long time (ever?) I don't remember any routine grounders finding their way through the infield!!!

Any hoo... this game was a ton of fun... I'm looking forward to more games of this nature in the immediate future!

edit:
Wow Scott... you did have a monster day... if you're team had won, you would've been the POG for sure...
