Practice Thursday 7-21?

Post by Rich B. »

There are two ways to get better, and that's playing and practicing. (Practicing is a primary way to get better.) I was thinking of trying to organize some people to practice for next week's game.

There can be pitching, fielding, & batting practice. I get off work at 4:30 (4:45 is the latest) And I can get to Oakland by 6:00, so I was thinking of having a practice at Flood at 6ish and having it until god-knows-when. But I would really like to know if anyone is going to show up so I'm not wasting gas or time. Anyway, leave me an e-mail, or just simply respond to this post.

Hope to see you there!

R.

P.S. E-mail me for my cell# to ask me where I'm at if I'm not there at 6 to 6:30. I could be stuck in rush hour traffic.

I would be interested in practicing. I would like to throw some pitches, but would also be happy to catch some, or hit some. I also want to work on my 1st base stuff, digging out low throws is my worst weakness.
After the game I nabbed a bunch of older leather balls, I can bring those along to use.
I also want to work on fielding comebackers as pitcher. This should be easy enough, even if there's only us two.

you guys should quit your jobs so you can practice during daytime when I'm not at work, then I could participate.

I may be able to join you guys Thursday. And Scott, I'm free most days at this point so if you have a particular day and time that's good and you're up for it let me know.

Curt Flood Field and Fruitvale Elementary School are two seperate entitites. As are many schools in Oakland. There just happens to be a field adjacent to it that is under the domain of the City of Oakland Parks and Recreation or Life Enrichment or whatever the hell yuppy newcomers are calling it now. Besides school is out for the summer. That does not mean that another group may or may not be using it. Toss a coin and good luck. I would love to practice with you but work beckons. If you all ever have a Friday evening practice, I'm down.

No problem, I can pick you up at West Oakland bart if you need it. You should still have my cell number. Just let me know before, say, 5:45? If I don't hear I just head straight to CF.

Hey Rich, if there's traffic, no need to be concerned, I probably won't be able to get out of the house until 6 or 6:15, so I might not get to CF until 6:30 anyway. Seems like it's probably just us two and Ken anyway.
