F***ing weather
F***ing weather
So I'm sure we have no stats to post from todays game, which is really irritating for me, as I was doing well (2/2 with NO STRIKEOUTS for once!).
Ken, you gotta be pissed too, more than me. Those triples were sluggalicious.
I just made that word up.
You know, I think we should play MLB rules again next game, and just cap it at three hours, however many or few innings that comes out to be. I also think we should change the pitcher at least every two innings. No disrespect to Andrew and Nick, we just have to get mopre people some practice. Don't forget, that's what these MLB games are supposed to be for right now, practice for the challenge game.

Hopefully most of the rainy weather is behind us... But just in case, here are some ideas on being able to keep the stats from getting wet....
1) Keep the stat sheet inside the metal container, and open it only to make an entry; OR
2) Use a sheet protector; OR
3) Use several sheets duringthe crouse of a game. when oe starts to get wet, go the the next one in sequence; OR
4) Maybe someone has a cheap PDA we could use, and makea spreadsheet for entry. OR
5) Use a voice recorder to make notes
With regard to Paul's comment on playing MLB rules I agree for the most part. In order to be prepared for the challenge, LOTS more real game practice (as well as drills and position specific development) is needed to be competative. Also changing up the pitchers is a good idea to get everyone who wants to pitch a chance to develope (so far it looks like Andrew is the best we've got to offer in terms of consistancy).
However, I'd like to see the games played out the full 9 innings instead of quitting short (like we did the 2 we've had). We should play the "live pitching" games first, then followed by our "regular" style afterwards...no matter how long it takes (unless it gets too dark).

Rob, it would be nice it we could play until dark, but there are few of us that can. We have to work with the situation we have, namely, that we cannot just keep going until it's done, there are time constraints, and we have to make the best use of the time we have. I don't want to have to walk away from an unfinished game, I hate that more than anything, but it will happen if we go too late.

Hey, thanks for the brainstorming, Rob, however I think these suggestions are less useful than one would think. 1) This is the best idea, and should be tried, though I think it will result in even fewer people helping keep the stats. Out of sight = out of mind. 2) Can't write through sheet protectors, not practical to take in and out for everything you write down. 3) Also impractical, ie writing the lineups on each sheet for each new sheet. 4) This I know nothing about. 5) Transcribing the tapes later would be too much work.Rob C wrote:Hopefully most of the rainy weather is behind us... Mind that this is only the 2nd time ever that this has happened. I don't expect this to happen too often.

Earlier, I set it so that I had to approve accounts... but I didn't set it so that you had to be registered to post. I didn't think about that particular tactic for the spamming fuckers. So I just did that and am painstakingly deleting the spam.
