I want to start by getting a checklist of those who want to play in the game versus the titans, I know a lot of posts have been scattered about the boards but I would like to have everything consolidated into this thread if possible.
So far, I know the following people want to play:
Kenyatte
Pat
Scott
Dave
Paul
Dorian
Nick
If you're name isn't on this list and you do in fact want to play in the challenge game just reply to this thread and I'll edit the list.
If you don't want to play in the game, but you do want to be a part of the team, first and thirdbase coaches will be a real valuable asset for this game, so speak up if you would like to fill either of those positions. Another possibility may be to act as umpires for the game.
I'll continue to post to this thread as more info is passed between my self and "titans baseball" and the details are worked out.
Also- How far do we want to go in terms of organizing ourselves? A team name? Uniforms? I'd like to go the whole nine yards with this... but I want to know how how the rest of the guys feel.
That's all for now.

Over the couple of years we've been playing, I've given deep thought toward uniforms. I toyed with the idea of West Oakland Baseball before we found C.F. Field, since it made a nice logo idea (WOB) with the O being a baseball. But I think Park Baseball could also work. Whatever it is, it should be Oakland related. Even just the word Oakland (a la A's home jerseys) would suffice. The jerseys could be any color, but I'm partial to green, yellow, gray, or a combo of green/yellow and white/gray. Can you tell I'm an A's fan yet?
I thought about asking people for their desired numbers. If you wonder what number looks good under your name, go here. Put your name in and start picking numbers. I always thought I liked 2 or 22, until I later found that 83 is what I'd go with. So you never know.
As far as the rest of the outfit is concerned, apparently SportMart is the place to go to get cheap gear. You can get pants, socks, cup, sliding shorts, etc. for much less than Copeland's or Big 5 from what Scott and Pat have told me. Also, I think Pat has some experience acquiring uniforms. So I bet he'll be able to provide some valuable input.
I've always thought we should have numbered shirts at the least. I mean, we could buy T-shirts and iron-on numbers for a few dollars. And I think the rest of the uniform would be easy to figure out since you have 3 different pant sizes and whatnot. Whatever happens, I'll be getting some baseball pants anyway. The catcher's shinguard wreaks havoc on my right knee without something to absorb the friction.

I intended to write something to remind everybody of my superior prowess.
Sorry I could not make the game today, I am very upset.
Anyway on the subject of shirts I recently order t shirts for my softball team. They are not the fanciest or whatever, but at $16 a piece including numbers and whatever name we want on the front, its a pretty good option. Any way if you want to check it out go to: americanteamuniforms.com There also a few nicer options for $30-$35 if everyone can afford that. Anyway I will be there next Sunday, see you then.

Uniforms......
I LOVE THE IDEA OF UNIFORMS!!!!!!
Since we play for free I would expect that people can perhaps afford to shell out 15-45 bucks for customized jerseys. Drink one fewer mochas or lattes a week, and you can afford it after 2 months.
That would be so badass to have uniforms.

Hey guys,
Everyone needs to stop worrying about what they're going to wear and start practicing towards the "Big Game". We've got great uni's and you'll be jealous when we show up in style, but the fact of the matter is that if you guys don't bring your A-game, it won't be fun for anyone.
By the sound of everyone's dedication to the game of baseball, everyone has the potential of being an above average baseball player. You'll need to work on pitching and error-free defense. That's all it comes down to.
Don't you guys want to beat some preppy-ass muthaf*ckers from the North Bay? Give us a battle! Don't be showin up with some "cute" uniforms, all clean and shit, without bringin' the game to support it!
Listen...life is baseball and since one of your screennames indicates that I'm positive that all of you feel the same way. Stop worrying about, "Oh, real baseball will fuck up our way of playing on Sundays. I don't want to lose that. I love my Sundays with the guys, blasting 5 hits per game." That's fine, I appreciate that. I play softball and I have fun doing that. The game is a lot more fast-pace and I get a lot more action in the infield playing shortstop. But baseball=baseball, more than anything. Play to play the real game, not some watered down version. Have fun playing your game, but strive for something more real - baseball in all it facets.
I thought I talked enough shit to get all you guys interested, but I guess not. You Oakies can't hang with us, flat-out. We'll dominate and it won't be pretty, but at least you'll have the pride that goes along with playing the big boys of baseball. We'll let you touch our bats and wear our helmets, but just remember that you guys AREN'T Titans. Titans are selected as premium players that exhibit pure baseball instincts and the utmost dedication. Where's you dedication, huh? I can't hear you?
Let's see it on the baseball field, baby. Strut your shit and show what you're made of!

Why not?
Put me on the active roster.
Of course, I will have to practice.
Unfortunately, I'm going to Brewers/Giants on Sunday. Shit.
