Player of the Game - 1/30/05

Post by Baseball=Life »

I love stats. I eat them up like they're my breakfast every day. Without them, I feel malnourished. Seriously, when regular baseball season ends, I must supplement my need for statistics by coming up with video game baseball leagues, etc. I have a problem.

Anyway, I wanted to acknowledge the top offensive producers from yesterday's game.

Only 3 players had more than one extra-base hit yesterday:

Jason G.: 3/5, 2 doubles, Run Scored, 4 RBIs
Andre P.: 3/5, 2 doubles, 2 Runs Scored, 2 RBIs, webgem
Manuel C.: 3/5, double, HR, 3 Runs Scored, 3 RBIs

Way to go, guys.

Manny all the way. His 3R homer was HUGE!
I intended to write something to remind everybody of my superior prowess.

Not to be a party pooper, but Manny's team did lose...

Yeah, Manuel was in fact on the winning team. But of course Daniel was involved in the mid-game trade. That mixes a person up! Speaking of that, tell me if you think your stats aren't correct for the game, Daniel, because I find it hard to believe you only got 3 at-bats. Was that really the case, or did we err in the scorekeeping and attribute some of your ABs to Mike C (the sheet seems to imply that could be the case)?

I believe I actually went 1 for 5, but I think I reached on at least one ROE, and scored 2 total runs.

And yes, my apologies, manny was indeed on the winning team, but I was still on the other team at the time (I think)

Concerning Daniel's stats, on the sheet for our team I put a vertical line w/ two marks through it to signify a player change in each column Mike C contributed to. If there is no mark, that means it was definitely Daniel.

Dan's just mad that he's not in his 8 hits-per game mode

Oh don't worry, I'll break my own record one of these days ;)

I have my stance and timing back in order now too, so hopefully that should translate to something more than a 1-5 game.
