Well, with no Paul, Will, or Carlos:

1-Mario H (ss)
2-Matt C (c)
3-Dan R (p)
4-David J (3b)
5-Eddie R (lf)
6-Pat K (2b)
7-Ken D (cf)
8-Richard J (dh)
9- Peter R (1b)
10- Dave L (rf)

and if Will can show up, since you might have time to talk to him before then:

1-Mario H (ss)
2-Dan R (p)
3- Will (lf)
4-David J (3b)
5-Eddie R (rf)
6-Pat K (2b)
7-Matt C (c)
8-Ken D (cf)
9-Richard J (dh)
10- Peter R (1b)

Thoughts?

First things first, we need a skipper. If Scott is still on the DL then I think its his job to take. If he wants it.

Agreed on Scott if not physically involved.

My lineup (assuming Will and Eddie show up as they said they would on Sunday while we discussed and not counting Carlos):

1. Mario SS
2. Pat 2B
3. David J. 3B
4. Will J. CF
5. Eddie RF
6. Myself P
7. Nick DH
8. Peter R. 1B
9. Ken LF
10. Matt C

I had reasons written out for why everyone was put where and then realized I would be supplying our potential opponents with slightly too much knowledge. We can deliberate on Sunday.

Hey guys, are we only allowing for one pitcher for the entire game? Shouldn't there be 2 or 3? And there should be an extra player or 2 in case of an injury. A forfeit would be bogus. I'd like to attend either as a bench warmer or umpire or photographer or just fan.

Do we know if this game has been confirmed for Oct. 1st?

Dave,

There is definitely a plan to get other arms in the game once I'm gassed. Every position player should show up and I assume that we will get subs in as the game progresses. Does everyone agree? Anyone who is a regular at OBP should get a chance to play in a game like this in my humble opinion.

Also,

Has it been determined that I am definitely starting? Or are we still deciding what order makes sense between myself and David?

Yeah, I figured that out just after I made that post. Of course there are other arms in the lineup. As far as subs, I'm planning on making it and would be over joyed to get an inning in if that works out for the team...

OK. Word from the San Jose folks is that we could be up there around 12, ready to throw the first pitch hopefully before 1 (we got a couple who work sunday nights). That cool? We need to know which park to go to though. We need a mound (if you can't get a place with a mound, you guys can feel free to come play us at our place). Get back to me with what you got for us.

As of yet, there is no reason why I shouldn't be able to make it to the game.

This sounds fun... too bad I'll still be in my "3 trips in 2 weeks" mode.

I went to Seattle for a web design conference a week ago and to D.C. for a friend's wedding this past weekend, and will be going to Vegas this weekend for a different friend's bachelor party. His wedding is on the 8th, so I will make my triumphant [?] return to OPB on October 15th.

Looking forward to hearing how it goes.
