You can't consider it wasting a position when the person scheduled to start at first is Roberto Petagine. Granted he's a Japanese league legend but it's not like Alfonzo's a downgrade. I believe Alfonzo has played some first but I'm not sure.
Anyone watch any of the games last night? It was awesome to see some live, real baseball again.

YES! Although, the Korea uniforms look like Little League apparel. They need a fucking logo in the worst way. Why not use the flag at least?Blancito21 wrote:Anyone watch any of the games last night? It was awesome to see some live, real baseball again.
I intended to write something to remind everybody of my superior prowess.

The Korean National Team has no logo because the national team for 2008, including this one participating in the WBC, is supposed to be comprised of players from both N. Korea and S. Korea- thus the reason for no flag.
Another baseball/geo-political obstacle... The team from Taiwan... henceforth known as Chinese Taipei so as not to piss off Beijeng.

dude canada beat the us .... fucking sweet. so these are the possibilities
POOL B SCENARIOS
Team USA advances:
• If Canada defeats Mexico on Thursday, and USA defeats South Africa on Friday.
• If Mexico defeats Canada and scores three or more runs, and USA defeats South Africa on Friday.
Canada advances:
• If it wins Thursday in its game against Mexico, finishing Pool play with a perfect 3-0 record.
• If it loses Thursday against Mexico, but allows two runs or less.
Mexico advances:
• If it defeats Canada on Thursday.
• If it loses to Canada, and USA loses to South Africa by seven or more runs.
this makes pool b a helluva lot more interesting. seeing as how the us team didnt beat mexico by that much and the us team was lucky to com back against canada and make 8-6 canada
