Thanks to all who have kept records

Post by Southpaw Slim »

I want to formally thank Peter and Kenyatte for keeping boxscores and putting in the effort to transcribe them for online viewing. I understand well the time that goes into it, and wholeheartedly appreciate the initiative to keep the records updated and accurate.

As long as DeFStAr has been down, it seems that it may never return. I encourage all to keep hope alive that it will come back. With my enrollment in school (and desire to continue educating myself about databases and web-scripting) I may not have the time to devote to the project that I had before, but it will return someday -- hopefully soon.

After talking with Jason several times about it, it's better to just reconfigure the code to meet modern standards. Looking for a server with old versions of software is like trying to buy a computer with Windows 3.1 on it. It goes against the spirit of new technology, which is the reason I was inspired to start it up in the first place. Rather than stubbornly stick with old standards, I'm the one who needs to catch up to the times. Jeez, does this mean I'm actually getting old?

With my federal aid money, I plan to buy a new desktop or laptop computer with enough power to build a new and improved stat archive for all to enjoy. It may take a while to get running again, but since you've had to wait this long another year should go by just as quickly. As a bonus, I'll be able to use it for school credit! :D Thanks to all the OPB participants for contributing to my education.
I intended to write something to remind everybody of my superior prowess.
