I would not mind contacts, just as long as you guys don't take advantge of it and just use it as an excuse to run me over.

As discussed in the other thread, I think we should allow contact by default, but give the catcher the option to call for no contact at the cost that he doesn't impede the runner's path to the plate.
Regulate Runners coming in upright

You kind of alluded to what I was saying about how we should regulate the manner in which a runner comes in upright.
It implies there should be a 3rd option in the poll
So.....
If you want to come in without sliding on a close play, don't stick your elbows out and don't use your shoulder either to completely plow over the catcher.
So you can collide with them, and even do an A-Rod and attempt to knock the ball out of their glove, but don't level them with your elbows or shoulders.
Myself, I will usually just do an evasive slide instead... I think I can get around most tags because I can pull off such a good evasive slide.
And I think the odds of the catcher dropping it are less than the odds of getting past the catcher with a good slide. From that perspective, there isn't actually an advantage for the defense if "slide to avoid contact" was enforced. But, anyways, that's just me and what I'd do.
