New Website!

Post by TheLegend »

Some time in the last 12 hours parkbasell.org got a facelift! check it out (unless you're richard and you can't because we hate you);

Just a note of accuracy (and, i'm not gonna lie, personal interest to myself), the phrase "fifth sunday of the month", aside from not representing our true live game schedule, doesn't actually suggest that we have live games once a month.

This should get fixed asap, as new comers who get the impression that we only play live games every 3 months could conceivably be less inclined to check out our group (I know I was immediately put off by the wording).

Hope you like the facelift! I have having issues with my computer, so the web editing program won't load on my PC. I'll get to it ASAP as soon as it's working properly, but you made a good point on that.

looks like reloading the forums now redirects back to parkbaseball.org which is kinda obnoxious

When I first saw this a few days ago... I thought, "Oh shit. The TV has finally gone as the entire 50" was green instead of black. As I looked around the site, I became comforted that, " There was no need to adjust my set...". Looks good... less cluttered

Because we are using a free host, the domain name simply re-routes to the free site. Because of that, any direct links from the main site are also 'cloaked' as if they are another page on the site.

This has always been how it works. To avoid it, right click the "forum" option on the main site to open in a new tab or window.

AntMo: I was going for 'less clutter' so that is good news.

Peter, I thought I had fixed that before. Just add:

Code: Select all

target="_top"
after the HREF part of the link in the HTML. It'll break away from pb.org
I intended to write something to remind everybody of my superior prowess.

this is certainly not the way it has always worked. until recently if i was on the main forum page, I could reload the page to see if there have been any new posts.

If Peter hasn't fixed this yet and the forum does still load into a frame (i.e. when you hit reload the main site comes up instead), just do this:

On the forum page you want to reload, right-click somewhere in the page and select from the menu that pops up:

"This Frame > Reload this Frame" (if you're using Firefox)
OR
"Refresh" (if you're using Internet Explorer 8 for some ridiculous reason)

Also, enjoy this comic.

The cjb.net is really old... before Scott bought the domain name.

I'll try and deal with the issues tonight. However, I do want to mention that the current site is an interim solution until we do the total redo in the Fall.

Also, you can (as I do) put up a bookmark on your tool bar that goes right to the forum :-)
