The last game we played looks great on paper (16-15) but the boxscore only tells half the story.
For those of you who couldn't make it to the 3/18 game, you should consider yourself lucky. There were numerous injuries and the game was stopped frequently to allow players time to recover. Had we a few more people available we would have been able to fill in for players, but it felt like a mid-October game where you have no choice but to sub one injured player for another.
Since the fence has been pulled from right field, deep right-center field has become a serious tripping hazard. I lost my footing in a posthole dug there and have the massive scab to prove it. The fence guarding the scoreboard in left is also very dangerous. There are loose metal poles sticking out sideways into midair which, when combined with the sharp spearheads sticking out from the top of the fence itself, make any approach toward the fence one of either hesitation or recklessness.
It is my personal opinion that we should disregard this field as a viable option until the fences have been repaired/replaced. I propose a second look at Golden Gate unless someone has any better ideas. I think the muddy patch and the tall grass at GG are annoyances which are far less dangerous than the hazards present at Nichol.
