Any details as to yesterdays game would be really appreciated. Can't wait 'til next weekend.

It was a rare occasion of the game being called due to a large deficit. At the end of the 8th, the score was 30-11, or something like that. The deathblow was a 3-run homer to left center, the only one of the day strangely.
Also we had the all-Jackson outfield, which was pretty cool. Will's sister (I think) Rene made a sweet catch in center, and not to be outdone by flesh and blood, Will responded quickly with a spectactular, although possibly unnecessary, leaping, tumbling, backhand catch. He took it from right in front of Darrin, though, which is why it might have been unnecessary. Tellingly, he did not get the webgem.
Oddly enough it was a great game for me at the plate. I went 8/11 with either 4 or 5 doubles, although there was some disagreement about two of the hits maybe being ROEs (flyballs lost in the sun).
Also, my "fungo" bat finally bought it. I got a nice double right down the third base line with it, then next AB I popped up, and it broke when I threw it down in a pathetic fit of pique.
Good game, bit of a massacre, but fun for us winners for sure!

Yeah, it was fun to play at Nichol. It had been a while. That shade is such a plus for me. Anyway, there was a fun situation when Jason made 4 plays in a row, one against his own team as a defensive replacement. They were all grounders to 2B, and Jason was all over them. The final one was me... damn you Jason! Luckily no web gems were awarded.
Another aspect of the game was that Will's nephew Nate had a huge day at the plate. It was his 3 run homer that sealed the game. He was hitting the ball all over the place.
A new guy named Henry also had a solid day at the plate, hit after hit to left field. His final hit was his biggest, a stand up double between Darin (LF) and me (CF) that rolled to the wall.

Thanks dudes!!!
Paul, you hit with a "fungo" bat? How awkward.

Well actually, it was not really a true fungo, it was just called that by Scott, and the name stuck (this was way back in the Defremery-every-other-week era). In fact it was a very old Louisville Slugger, old enough to have the label "Hillerich and Bradsby".
Scott called it the fungo bat because the barrel was a mere 2 1/4" (which means it was probably actually a softball bat).
I loved that bat. So light, and with the thick handle I prefer. I hit many dingers with that thing (albeit at Defremery).
So sad. Its the end of an era, folks.

How quickly you forget my 1st inning opposite field blast.

Oh, yeah, sorry about that. Had the fence been present in its normal position it would have been a trot, instead of a sprint.

Yeah, it was cool getting three assists in one inning.
4-3, 4-3, 4-3.
The fourth one, in the top of the next inning, I almost blew. I charged the ball somewhat aggressively, barely kept my balance, and almost threw it in the dirt, but it got dug out by... Paul, right?
No web gems for me, but we did have one in the game.

Yeah, it was a big day for the Jackson clan. Nate's home run was awesome. It sealed the deal at 30-9 after 8 innings. I was able to continue my hot streak and got a couple of doubles.
The web gem Jason spoke of was a shin-high line drive comebacker that I snared between my legs off Scott's bat late in the game.
BTW Paul, I'm sure you've hit many mingers, I mean dingers, with a thick handle.
