Black Rock Baseball

Post by arno »

Who's a burner? If you are and just can't stop thinking of how cool a baseball diamond would look on the playa, this is for you. We're trying to put together some baseball/softball games on the playa in 2007. If you're interested, visit us at http://tribes.tribe.net/baseballontheplaya

Or, any of the above thread, for that matter? Random as hell...

No, it does make sense, but only in a limited context.

It wouldn't make any sense to me if I didn't have a friend who participates in Burning Man (i.e. a "burner"). [What is Burning Man?]

The playa (pronounced "ply - uh", not "play - uh") is where they go do art stuff and ogle topless girls on bikes. And then burn "The Man" in effigy. They do it every year in the desert in Nevada. You've probably heard of it.

A baseball diamond out in the desert would actually be kind of cool.

This would be where our new friend should chime in, because I've never gone, and don't plan to.

well you dont need to play naked but the desert is a very hot place in the middle of august.
and wearing clothes while playing baseball in 100+ heat is no fun.
not that playing baseball in 100+ heat is fun ,or is 100+ heat fun for that matter either
