im currentky debating quiting my job so i can play baseball every sunday. damn if i could only get fired so i can collect unemployment. if that happened i would be getting paid to sit on my ass and smoke pot. fucking sweeet!!!

Well, to get fired, just show up at work, sit on your ass, and smoke pot. Consiter it "on the job" training for your unemployment status.

I have never had to claim unemployment, here or back home, so I admit I don't know how it works, but surely getting yourself fired for an kind of unacceptable behavior would mean you weren't entitled to unemployment? I would have thought you would have to be laid off instead, you know, due to cutbacks or some such thing. Don't the unemployment people look into why you were fired? How hard would that be?
I guess that system could be abused easily enough by unscrupulous bosses, though.
You know, the worlds most honest people live in Scandinavia. In Norway the people or so honest and hardworking, very very few people try and abuse the system, and so their unemployment benefits are ridiculous. Get this: your unemployment is based on the pay you were receiving before you were laid off, and the percentage? 80%

to answer you question paul the rulesw are if you get fired for lateness, unexcuesed absences, imcomptance, sexaul harrassment, physical abuse, intoxication, then you cant collect unemployment. there are a few others but i dont know what they are. and i believe the rule for pay is 75-80% of the money you made in the highest quarter of the year.

the great thing is if your boss cuts your pay. then you claaim that you afford to live of that little money then you get 100% of your pay. this is why almost no one is demoted.

i did it, i got fired and in i way i should be able to collect unemployment. i am so happy my life goal has been accomplished. if i collect unemployment i will get paid to do nothing but get drunk and go to baseball games or get stoned and watch baseball games..... decisions, decisions!
