Fellas,

Lyman here....My team needs up to 4-5 players for a Night game in San Francisco Wood Bat League.

It's the real deal, fast pitch, Umpire, Wood bat and all...Who's interested? Who's up for the challenge? Pitchers throw 70-80mph.

Game time is at 6:30, Crocker Amazon Park in San Francisco (near the Cow Palace).

Scott if you around and if interested, can you organize?

I'll be going to this game, would consider driving instead of taking bart, if someone wanted a ride from, say, downtown Oakland. Mail me if you need a ride, otherwise I'll spare the air.

What time would the game be, and what would any participants need to bring/wear?

Lyman told me there is no uniform, so I guess you just need a wood bat you feel comfortable with, and your cleats. Helmets I'm sure they have there to lend.
The game starts at 6:30, I beleive. I'm going to try and get there before 6 for warm up and whatever.

I play in the Tri-Valley MSBL, our league is done this weekend. It's a wood bat hardball league that's very organized. We play at college and high school fields in the East Bay. I play in the 38+ league. We wear major league uni's, we are always looking for new players. Go to www.tvmsbl.com to check it out. There are tourney teams also and some go to Arizona for the MSBL World Series in Nov.

I'M LOOKING FOR A FALL LEAGUE TO PLAY IN, ANYONE KNOW OF ONE?

Hey, we play year round, every Sunday.

Please don't advertise for other competing leagues on our site.

Just come play with us.

Thanks

Sorry, I really was not advertising, just referencing where I play. I would love to come out and play with you guys.
Can you tell me the difference between "live" and "non-live" games, I'm confused by these terms.

Thanks
JV

"Live" refers to the pitching. This is full-on defensive pitching, the pitcher being on the fielding team, throwing hard and doing his best to get the batter out. MLB rules for everything, except that we do not have a regular umpire, strikes either being called by the catcher or a temporary umpire from the batting team. This works pretty good, we're a fairly honest bunch. Oh yeah, and we allow metal bats for our live games.
Non-live is where we have the pitches being thrown by a member of the batting team. He is of course doing his best to serve up nice, BP-like strikes. For these games, there is no lead-off allowed for the baserunners, and no steals or pickoffs. These games are fun, high-scoring affairs, the majority of what we play. Metal bats are allowed but discouraged after if you have demonstrated power by hitting one out.
This Sunday we'll play live if we have sufficient turnout, non-live if not.
