Will we play through the rain if and when it comes?

Yes, unless it is really coming down. Curt Flood drains pretty well, from past experience, so it really just a question of how much we want to play.

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't really want to do the "stand in the outfield in the rain for 30 minutes at a time" thing again. We don't have to call the game or anything, but when it's pouring down, can we at least take a break?

Well, considering the condition the mound was in, I don't ever want to play another live game again if my "post" leg is going to drift a foot during my delivery. With the mound that slippery, it's amazing there were any strikes thrown to begin with. With that in mind (and I know this is another topic entirely) I would have to nominate Andrew for Player of the Game. Throwing 5+ innings in those conditions is commendable. Getting strikes the way he did on top of it all is even more impressive.

Yeah, Andrew was absolutely the player of the game. Especially when he struck me out looking in the 5th with a fastball right on the outside corner (Jason umpiring). That was a sweet pitch, I was frozen like a deer in headlights.

And I even heard Andrew talking before the game about his arm being sore. BEFORE the game.

Plus, he's only like 15, so he can throw heat only, yet he still did so well.


Yeah, whenever the mound is like that again in the future, we need to just do a non-live game. The pitching was atrocious (Andrew excepted) due to that crappy mound. I would have had more fun with same team pitchers throwing from in front of the mound.

Note: I'm not saying I don't like Live games or playing live with some regularity... I like it. I just think those conditions were not good for playing live. We should have recognized that and played regular, and moved the live game to the following week..

Lesson learned.

I'm not sure what exactly happened to my arm while I was catching, but it feels like I might have strained my bicep while turning my arm toward the outside. Luckily it is healing nicely, but I'm afraid I may be on the DL for the next game. We'll see. If I feel up to it, I might be able to DH.

I'm just kidding my friend. Actually, between baseball and way too much computer usage (thus carpal tunnel), I'm getting a kind of fucked up arm as well. But that just means I'll hold off on any pitching for a few weeks, everything else for me will still be a go.

And plus, it looks like Gibbs is going to play in the doubleheader on Sunday, so if you puss out he can take your spot, you tweaker.
