live?

I hereby officially suggest that we go live this sunday. Additionally, I think those of us that are interested in playing in the challenge game should try and put together some evening practices and/or cage trips.

I second your motion. Do we know if/when Curt Flood and Raimondi are being used in the afternoons?

No clue. I do however know of this park in Berkeley that has lights and is pretty quiet in the evenings...

Sounds good. I'd like to practice some pitching and hitting (both with real heat). Thursday evening works for me, or Friday. Anytime after 6, finishing by 10.
Anyone else?

Maybe we could have two practices a week? One evening practace and one afternoon practice?

1. Ken--What do you mean by "go live"?
2. As for practice, even though its not likely that I'd play in the challenge game (unless I get a whole lot better real quick) I'd be up for some practice.
Since I really need work on hitting anything faster than a lob, and need work in accuracy, I've been thinking of posting a message to see if there was anyone that wanted to pitch some faster balls to me for some real BP sometime. I've been using the batting cage lately, and self pitching for target practice, but its far from the being like the real thing. Im free some evenings as well as some day times during the week (although I never know in advence when).

by going live I mean allowing the defense to pitch and baserunners to lead off and steal. If someone was willing to umpire that would be great too!

I strongly prefer tomorrow (Thursday), so my arm will have more time to recover for Sunday. Ken, how about you? Oh, and which park are you thinking of? I don't have very many balls to bring, so if you had some that would be good.
Anyone else up for it? If nothing else I'll be happy to pitch to anyone who is willing to face some real heat.....yeah, right!

I'm guessing this is Paul.
I was thinking of grove park on MLK... there's also San Pablo Park (on San Pablo) which is rarely if ever used during the week, but I'm not sure if those lights stay on at night.

Yeah, that was me. I guess San Pablo park sounds good, if it gets too dark and the lights don't come on, we could always go over to Grove.
So Ken, it may be just me and you if we go tonight, but I'm fine with that. I just want to work my arm out, and get some accuracy going. I could get there probably around 6:30, we should still have some light then.

Sounds good to me. How many (base)balls do you have? If we need a few more I could easily swing by sportsmart after work and pick some up.
p.s. to others: the more the marrier, 6:30 San Pablo Park

I only have 5, maybe 6, so sportsmart sounds like a good idea. I'll split the cost with you.

Congratulations on reaching the coveted "Barry Zito" status on this forum, Paul. Enjoy it while it lasts, as your next post will bring you to the next level.
Well, guys I wish I could be there to throw my curveball at you guys, but, alas I've got bonus money to earn and fundraising goals to meet today, the last day of my pay period.
So have fun, don't blow out your arms & bodies, remember we've got Sunday to consider!
