I like the idea of limiting pitches against your own team. I'd be okay with counting fouls or only counting pitches not offered at. I think that either it should be ten total pitches or 8 pitches not offered at, and if you get out because you don't put the ball in play after 8 or 10 pitches, it doesn't count as an at-bat.
