PLEASE SHUT THE FUCK UP!

Post by Joe shmoe »

now then i realize i am a rather outgoing guy and i like to talk. but seriously people just need to shut up. whether its someone calling the wrong fair/foul call when its not there job. or someone in the dugout yelling i got it on every single popup

in order of who has the right to call a fair foul call, down the left field line it goes: catcher 3rd base coach, third basemen. and thats it not the on deck batter not the first basemen not the dugout. so please just shut up

as for the more bush league, i have been trying to be less bush league about the way we/i play cause i feel that because when new players show up they try to fit into the group and mimic the behavior of the group and i just hope they learn or have reenforced fundamentals, and sportsmanship

Whenever a team is fielding a catcher, that catcher makes all fair/foul calls. The catcher may delegate calls to base coaches if unsure. If there’s no catcher, the nearest base coach makes the call. When there is no catcher and the batting team does not provide a base coach, then it is up to the defense to call whether a batted ball is fair or foul. On-deck hitters are encouraged to get in position to make fair/foul calls when no catcher or base coaches are present. When this is the case, the defense may opt to use this person’s viewpoint, but is not required to.

I do concur that people other than those involved in the play yelling "I got it" on popups is bloody fucking annoying and rather prick-like.
Rules:
1. I am always right.
2. If I am ever wrong, read rule number 1.

Thanks for this topic! I also think that there have been a few plays when a rule was unclear or a safe/out call was made, and one player or another didn't accept a call.

I know I've been out when I really didn't think I was, but that's how we have to live and we can all do a better job of a) calmly trying to figure out what happened, and b) moving on with the game when it's time.
