Man...

Time has passed on a local legend... Many of you know Bill King from the A's broadcasts. Very underrated... and as good as he was on baseball... In my top 5 (Mel Allen, Joe Gargioala (sp), Jack Buck, Lon Simmons, and Bill King), he was better in football and damn good with the Warriors. To hear a Raiders broadcast from the 70's is a treat for those of us too young to have heard him live back then. As a kid, I fell asleep to Bill King on the radio under my pillow ( I know corny) back in the 80's. He will be missed. :(

RIP, Bill King. We will miss you.
I intended to write something to remind everybody of my superior prowess.

Yeah, no doubt that he will be missed. I only knew of him for the last 6 years, but even that short period of time was enough to make me consider him one of the best announcers ever in sports history.

He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.

I agree Bill was one of the very best. If you also feel that way and would like to help him get in to the HALL, The voting for The Ford Frick award is going on all through November at baseballhalloffame.org. One vote per day. So lets all get over to the website and vote. RIP Bill King you will be missed. Holy Toledo!!!!

4 More days to vote for 2009 Ford Frick Award

Post by AntMoOAK »

Only 4 more days to stuff the ballot box for your favorite baseball broadcaster. The most conspicuous absence is that oflate A's (Raiders, and Warriors) announcer Bill King. Let's get him in there !!!
