Piazza: Beane looks for any excuse

Post by Southpaw Slim »

When asked about Mike Piazza...
Billy Beane wrote:"He sees that we have been a competitive club and he knows a couple of guys on the team. Mark Kotsay played briefly with him in Florida, for a week or something like that, and I think he sees a good match here. If we sign him, he has a good chance to win at this point of his career."
Hey, yeah. I played with Lincoln Yarbrough for an equivalent of a week (or something like that), and I think he sees a good match in OPB. In fact, whatever happened to that guy?
I intended to write something to remind everybody of my superior prowess.

Signing Pizza Boy would be a big mistake imo.

Lincoln moved out of town a while ago. I think maybe it was Los Angeles.

Not as good as if we'd gotten Frank Thomas back, but I think it's a solid signing. Not catching will help Piazza focus on hitting, and lessen injury and wear & tear.

Better than Bonds, for sure. Now I'm willing to drop money on season tickets.
I meant to put something here that reminded everyone that this forum exists
