No Royals Sweep

Post by Baseball=Life »

Well, I went to both game 2 and the final game of the 3-game Royals-Giants series. I'm from KC, so of course I went as a Royals fan. I like the Giants when they're not playing the Royals or A's. Anyway, the Royals took Game 1, and the Game 2 I attended with Peter & Paul. So I went to the final game (today) with Jason.... I was in my Royals jersey, and I had my broom ready to show the SF "fans" if a sweep was in order. Well, the Royals, despite giving up lots of unearned runs on multiple errors, and despite leaving in a no-name reliever to the tune of a 5 run inning, still managed to get the tying run into scoring position in the 9th. But then, somehow, the Giants closed the door, so I left with my broom unbranished. I bet I would've made SportsCenter or Baseball tonight had I had the chance to represent the Royals in their attempt at a road sweep. Well, hey, 2/3 ain't bad. Funny thing is, last year I saw 4 Royals' games against the A's, and they won 3/4, including a game in which they hit 2 (two) grand slams, the only time in Royals history this has ever happened. So in games I've attended in 2004-2005, the Royals are 6-2. I should move back to KC, and they'll go all the way!

I remember that a long time ago, before the colesium refits, when the old wooden benches were still there, when it was $1 tickets for anyone 14 and under for any game, I went to like 20 games in a year and the A's won them all. 8)
