I'll Start...

I'm Scott, age 30, I work at an environmental group (fundraising, lobbying, etc, blah blah, www.ecovote.org). Aside from baseball, I'm into going out to eat, computers, TFC (a game), politics, music (hardcore, rap, punk, hip-hop), and hanging out with friends. Pretty usual stuff.

As for myself, you probably all know me. Any of you who've read more than just this thread will know that I'm Nick. I turned 21 last September, and have been enjoying it since.

I've always been attracted to unusual jobs. Currently I work for my uncle restoring, building and mainly tuning pipe organs in the Bay Area and surrounding regions. I travel from Santa Rosa to Monterey, from San Francisco to Modesto. So sometimes, I'm finding myself on the road a lot. We usually tune organs in seasonal tours before Xmas & Easter, and some in the summer and fall.

Before that, I worked briefly for California Peace Action trying to convince people that I was legitimately asking for them to hand me money for peace. But I think the coolest job I've had was the one before that, restoring carousel animals for my neighbor's buisness.

As for interests, I can often be found fragging alongside Scott in TFC. I spend lots of time playing guitar. And I also sit on this forum refreshing the page endlessly, awaiting new posts to reply to.

I wrote my reply before you had edited your comment. Initially, you didn't have an actual reply, you only said the first line about what profiles should contain. I thought you were sarcastically saying, 'Find what you're asking for in the profiles, numb-nuts!' But then you edited and it became a real reply.

By the way, to me this feels like a spam post, because there's really no content in it, and it only applys to one reader, Nick.

Hello! I'm Peter, thank lanky first baseman. I'm 20, going to school at SF State (my buss arrives in3 minutes, so I'll be quick.) Outside of school, my other major work is as a City Commissioner, here in SF. I'm an advocate on youth issues in the City. I'm also on the board of a local high school.

Beyond that, I'm a half-ass musician. I'm also in a "band" with another friend. But my love is to produce music at my home set-up. The only problem is that my set-up has been broken for the last 2 months

My name used to be connected with big left field foul-territory hitting, and regular fair homers, but now, sadly, I am Paul the Strike-Out King. 26, going on 40.

Day job-wise I work in a hospital on the peninsula, in a radiation oncology department. I take the doctors' desired treatment goals and design a computer-modelled treatment plan that will hopefully achieve them. There are many factors involved in a really good plan, so 3D, computer-based planning is a huge leap forward compared to the old days. We do good work in my department, I am proud and happy to be here in the Bay Area in this position.

Music is my main hobby, I have a long commute to work every day and so I have my XM radio, and an Ipod with most of my collection on it alwayys rides with me (currently around 1900 tracks, about 95% of which I purchased legally, I might add to those who claim larger collections, but little of it paid for!). This is one front on which we Brits still hold a strong position, unless you're talking about rap, of course.

Food is a big passion of mine, I like to cook and am fairly good, and love trying new dishes. Since moving here from New York I have noticed a definite improvement in the quality of the raw ingredients one can buy, and also hence food in general here. Don't insult British food until you've had one of my roast dinners with the crispy, crunchy roast potatoes and the savory gravy we are known for in my family.

I like baseball primarily because you get to hit things really hard with a big stick, throw things straight at people really hard. Nothing like hitting one right off the sweet spot.

Went to Oxford, read Physics, love science and technology.

Hi... My name is Anthony and I'm a broke wanna be audiophile (Miles Davis's 'Kind of Blue' is off the hook in SACD multichannel). I'm 30 I work for the people who give the SAT/PRAXIS/CLEP/GRE/LSAT and other tests. Not my gig at all. I'm actually looking to start graduate school in Public Health Epidemiology within the next year. I am an Oakland native. Attended college in Alabama and Oakland. I am an A's fan through and through. Love smash mouth AL basball but can appreciate NL "real" baseball... Now that our rains are generally over... I look to be at DeFrem' MUCH more often.

Hell no, it is not OK to steal any music, IF you can afford to buy it. When I was a student I downloaded a lot of stuff, but now I can afford it I have gone back and bought most of the albums I stole back then.
I meant that the British music scene is strong, when you consider what a small country it is. Then I was saying that British rap,however, is not that great, an exception to my general comment.
I would love to have an SACD player, I would for sure get one if it was better supported.

Just playing I'll take your word on British rap... I agree with the suppport for SACD... Only jazz , Classic Rock , and some classical selections , a little more varied contemporary selections wouldbe welcome

Uhh... could you inform the remainder of us unfamiliar with the acronym SACD? (Did that sound white enough?)

SACD= Super Audio CD... multi-channel format for AUDIO developedby Sony (rivals DVD-AUDIO) as opposed to trying to listen via Dolby Pro Logic which is mainly for surround sound (fake) from stereo or specially encoded sources.

Audiophile talk on the baseball site... How'd we get here ?
