i was thinking the other day that not having a fence at nichol is a pain, but there are still the light posts out there.

my idea was we could get a roll of the plastic orange net, stuff that they have at constuction sites and what not.

then we would roll along where the light poles are and use zip ties to attach it to the fence in center and a staple gun to attach it to the light poles

i figure the whole thing outta take about 10 to 15 mins to assemble, and then we could just cut it down afterwards or leave it up

i thought this would do 2 really good things the first being eliminate the ground rule double rule, and the second being stop so many soccer balls from coming over

so does anyone have a staple gun and what do you guys think?

Great idea with the fence, Richard. I flirted with it a bit myself, with the idea of creating a shorter center field fence for Curt Flood.

Purchasing a fence is not that small a task. You'd need 3 rolls of 100' barrier, and a right field foul pole to attach it to. The barriers come at $25 per 100', and the posts are $17 each. The zip ties would work well, and could be used on the light poles also. So, all in all, you'd be putting down about 100 bucks.

Anyone else think this is a good idea?
