"** It appears that batters have a 19% greater chance of getting a base hit than in the major leagues. So, to see your MLB batting average equivalent, subtract .2 from your batting average (so .568 becomes .369)"

You know, i started toing that a few weeks after we started keeping stats. My ratonal was that only a few players can hold onto a .600 average for a short amount of time in our group. I drew that to a .400 average in the MLB.

I feel smart, but no more math savvy. Hats off to Scott for doin the math.

I think the best way to find your MLB equivalent stats is with a ratio as opposed to a straght subtraction. I think 2/3 of your opb average would give you your mlb equivalent...

Yeah!!!!!

That will suck if the final game of S2 is washed away.
That will suck if we have to actually take 2 entire weeks off from baseball, considering the 12/25 Xmas off-day.

The fields drain surprisingly well, check the website www.parkbaseball.cjb.net at 9:20 tomorrow morning for Field Status Information.

Well I can't come to the New Years Day game. Yep, the wife said no. Call me pussy-whipped if you like, but I'm sure the other married guys understand...
Seriously though I think turnout for that game will be low anyway, quite probably too low to play.

Scott and I had a big discussion about how to relate your OPB average to an MLB average a while back. My intention was to figure it out so I could relate it to MVP Baseball. If you check the off-topic forum, you'll see a reference to it. However, upon further discussion, the final conclusion was that if you want to see your true MLB average, just multiply your OPB average by zero.

While I agree that statment agrees in my case, even that damn country singer got one hit in spring training. Baseball is the kind of sport where a MLB player would at some point get a OPB out, and some OPB players copuld at a point get a hit..... hey, i'd take a 1 for 284 in the MLB!

It's just a funny sport like that

...but i agree with the sense of the comment.
