I must have understated the importance of my discovery. I guess I forgot to mention that the project got me so frustrated that I was ready to throw out the inning-specific stats for some lame (basic) game totals. I was ready to simplify our stats (and lose a potential split category). Now, I can focus on getting stats out of the database.Southpaw Slim wrote:I've figured it out! This is like the E=mc² of DeFStAr having been discovered! I have inning-specific output from the form, so my recent concerns of having to trash the inning-specific aspect of our statkeeping are gone. Now we can stick to what we have. I'll get working on finalizing the input process later tonight.
Yes, for the first time EVER, stats are entered into the page and actually make it to the database in the correct configuration. In other words: Stats go in, stats come out. That means (at least some) boxscores will be available for viewing within a couple of weeks. I'm aiming to make it available in time to input our next game.
This is all good news for Scott. Under the current system, after every game he:
- Enters the boxscore
Updates the leaderboards
Updates the career stats
Updates the season stats
Updates the record book
Updates the main page
- Enter the boxscore
