Stats, MVP's and Box Scores

Post by Blancito21 »

Hey peeps,

Are we going to get on a normal schedule for stats and box scores anytime soon? Are we going to get ballots and vote for MVP and other awards?

How was Sunday?

Anything I can do to help? I am a data entry machine if that is what's neeeded.

Later,

Danny R.

Well, here's what's up...

The scoresheets for the final game of last season (Dec. 30th) was lost until yesterday. This was holding up our ability to a) cap last season's stats; b) start up this season's; and c) even consider voting for any awards.

So since it's finally been found (story not worth telling), it will be entered by me in the next 2 days, along with a few from this season that aren't up yet.

That's the limits of what I can do, but I'll get it done asap.

I could set up a email ballot with a link in it to the stat page, but that's really as far as I can go in terms of setting that up. And until last season and this season's stats are separated, it's not worth doing anyway.

I understand about the desperate need to play. Sorry I can't provide a fix this morning. It's already rained for several hours (1/2 ") in Richmond / El Cerrito, there's a 100% chance of more rain for the next 4 hours, then 90% chance the rain continues up through 5 pm. And of top of this the field doesn't drain that well to begin with. Fuck.

Hey, there's been a issue of power supply in Nick's neighborhood, so the database that houses the stats is not accessible. I'll need to wait until this situation is settled before I can enter more boxscores, issue mvp ballots, update stats, etc.

We're getting closer. Power's flowing again, but still connection issues.

Me neither. We should ALL try to bring as many people as possible to increase the chances of a live game. I'm going to put up a craigslist post, etc.

Hey, we did a good job making that game happen last Sunday (March 2nd). It took a lot of groundwork by everyone to get 18 people out there, to a new field no less! Well done!

And the good news is that all the boxscores are back up. http://defstar.b0ne.com/choosebox.php

We're very close to getting the stats finalized, which will mean MVP ballots for last season (Season 6). Also most improved player, and gold gloves. So stay tuned for that stuff, hopefully by Sunday if not sooner.

Note: Leaderboards are still being a bitch, and that problem won't be solved soon unfortunately.

PS: Craigslist post for this Sunday is already up! Nichol Park !
