Everyone's MAY batting averages

Post by Baseball=Life »

Here's the hits/at-bats for everyone who played at least 2 games in the month of MAY:

Scott - .658 [25/38]

Pat - .553 [21/38]
Rich - .538 [14/26]
Paul - .514 [18/35]
Ken - .513 [20/39]
Anthony - .500 [4/8]

Ahmer - .484 [15/31]
Dave - .476 [10/21]
Jason - .448 [13/29]
James - .429 [9/21]
Peter - .423 [11/26]
Nick - .400 [14/35]

Will - .375 [12/32]
Shaun - .333 [10/30]

Dorian - .290 [9/31]
Rob - .281 [9/32]
Dan - .263 [5/19]

Chris - .182 [6/33]

NOTE: Of course, batting average is only one measure of performance. For instance, though Will is in the lower 40% in terms of BA, he was player of the game multiple times, and 5/12 of his hits were for extra bases (3 HR). Compare this to May's batting average leader (Scott) who only had 3 extra base hits (3 doubles out of 25 total hits).

I was analyzing the heated RBI race between myself and Paul, and I noticed something incredible. Not only is he hitting .514 [18/35] in May, but he also has three (3) 4-RBI games during that span.

Yeah, it's really only thanks to those three good games that I'm in contention. Better watch your back, Slim. That said, I'll be missing at least the first game at good old Defremery next Sunday (hoping to make the second), and also the last game on Sunday 26th. So, that's your chance to put it out of reach. Makes me sick thinking about it!

Next season I'm going to break out the hickory hammer, it'll be heavy, but for all our non-live games that shouldn't matter. I'm tempted to stain it with tobacco juice like Shoeless Joe, but right now I'm leaning towards a natural, totally unlacquered finish right now. I'll just rub it with linseed oil - one of the best smells there is. It's going to be a customized 34" maul based on the 110 profile.

Did Scott mean 2 games or 2 days?

don't worry Daniel... with the possible exception of Scott, the league as a whole slumped its way through May.

I don't know how my average stayed so high, I felt like I had shite day after shite day... I guess those pathetic infield hits really do the trick sometimes. |8^p

Hopefully June will be better for all of us (and by all of us I mean, all of us who are NOT ahead of me in MVP standings  )

I went 4-9 this last week, hopefully that'll carry over to the flood games...

He's some random guy who started following us around one day... we let him sleep out on the porch.
