you guys don't see it, but tejada's been doggin' it. he doesn't run out groundballs, and sometimes he doesn't run them out in the field. just sometimes, but it's so, not tejada, that you know somethin's messed up. he is not happy. he's still pretty good, but it doesn't matter 'cause the orioles suck...

exactly. silver sluggers ought to be the more respected award, but for some reason (that reason being that GGs have been around longer (i think)), golden gloves get more attention. i only say this cause people do respect sluggers much more than glove man (and by "people" i do not necessari...

aww, come one, we all know feliz doesn't hit enough to get a gold glove, and these days, you do have to hit. i haven't seen him play lately, so i'll reserve judgement, but the feliz i remember was just pretty good, not spectacular. sorry. i'm still bitter that a-rod got the gold glove over mike bord...

since no one seems to give a shit, here's what's going on. tie game (1-1, i believe). bottom of ninth. one out. jackie walks. steals second. sac'd to third (2 outs). steals home. dodgers win. it's shit like that that makes me believe maybe jackie deserves all the fame he got. his numbers were never ...

yeah, baseball's a bit to tough when you can barely walk. sitting on your ass on a computer isn't. 'sides, i'm getting paid to sit on my ass in front of a computer now. in fact, i'm getting paid to write this inane response? that's pretty cool. missing baseball sucks.

yeah, i know that photo too, and yup, he was out. probably called safe because he was jackie robinson. the ump just assumed he'd dodged the tag. this aint a world series, but it's still pretty cool.

guess the situation

so, i changed my pic to make it a bit more appropriate for baseball. for whatever reason, some people seem to think it's strange to have a picture of pancetta with a cleaver in it. no idea why. anyway... this is one of my favorite pics. this play, or the sequence of plays, is a good example of why j...

hey, i've gone 1-6 or 1-7 three out of four times (or somethin' like that). i think i've demonstrated my ability to get a single hit.

the one time i did fantasy baseball, puj was the only money pick i had. i got so lucky that it's not even funny. who knew brian roberts and melvin mora were gonna take off? i sure didn't, but i reaped the benefits (that was the year mora had the best numbers among AL 3B. take that, A-rod.) looks lik...

can pujols really run? i don't get to see him that often (NL), but i never woulda guessed he had legs. as much as i hate it, he should be walked. you're right, the SL lineup has faded fast. as long as rolen's behind him, he's ok, but that's about it. btw, bill james once did a study about intentiona...

albert pujols

"Pujols ties HR record in loss
First baseman's 13th homer equals mark for opening month"

one day people are gonna talk about pujols as possibly being the greatest hitter ever. he has a chance to finish with career stats that are unheard of, in any era.

hasn't happened yet, but... wow.

ah... albert belle. i was really excited when he signed with the o's. a lot of people can't stand the guy, but i love his... um... intensity. anyway, yeah, degenerative hip condition. i think he played two years of a five year deal. a lot of money got wasted there. was a real shame. the guy was on h...

i agree that it should be that way, and that's mostly how they call it. i've seen plenty of times where the no effort was really made earlier in a game, and it wasn't called indifference. i think it's just another case of the actual rule not being entirely consistant with what is called.

so, if the defense makes no effort (because they don't care, or because "they" happens to be ramon hernandez, who, while he's a darn good all 'round catcher, is dumb as a doorknob), then it's indifference? if the catcher braces to throw, but doesn't, as he doesn't think he has a chance, th...
